Rainbow Reads #1|TeenBookLit101

img-20160522-wa0034.jpgHello Everyone, hope your all well. I have decided to start a new series on my blog. Every week or so I will be posting a Rainbow Book Snapshot. I will include a synopsis of the book, a link to the Goodreads page and the cheapest place found to buy the book in the UK. If the book happens to be part of a series, I will include details of the first book instead to avoid spoilers…

Red: The Land Of Decoration by Grace McCleen (Hardback) (NOT READ)

lodSynopsis: “Judith and her father don’t have much — their house is full of dusty relics, reminders of the mother she’s never known. But Judith sees the world with the clear Eyes of Faith, and where others might see rubbish, Judith sees possibility. Bullied at school, she finds solace in making a model of the Promised Land — little people made from pipe cleaners, a sliver of moon, luminous stars and a mirror sea — a world of wonder that Judith calls The Land of Decoration. Perhaps, she thinks, if she makes it snow indoors (using shaving foam and cotton wool and cellophane) there will be no school on Monday… Sure enough, when Judith opens her curtains the next day, the world beyond her window has turned white. She has performed her first miracle. And that’s when her troubles begin.”

Orange: The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker (Paperback) (NOT READ)

aomSynopsis: “One Saturday morning the world wakes to discover that the rotation of the earth has begun to slow. As birds fall from the sky and days grow longer, people start to flee – but there is nowhere on earth to escape to.

Julia is already coping with the disasters of everyday life. And then there’s Seth: tall and quiet and always on his own; the skateboarding boy who knows all about disaster. As the world faces a catastrophe, Julia and Seth are facing their very own unknown.”

tmrYellow: The Kill Order by James Dashner (Paperback) (Prequel to The Maze Runner Trilogy) (READ TRILOGY ONLY-NOT THE PREQUEL)

The Maze Runner Book #1 Synopsis: “When the doors of the lift crank open, the only thing Thomas remembers is his first name. But he’s not alone. He’s surrounded by boys who welcome him to the Glade – a walled encampment at the centre of a bizarre and terrible stone maze. Like Thomas, the Gladers don’t know why or how they came to be there – or what’s happened to the world outside. All they know is that every morning when the walls slide back, they will risk everything – even the Grievers, half-machine, half-animal horror that patrol its corridors, to try and find out.”

Green: Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (Paperback) (NOT READ)

fgSynopsis: Cath and Wren are identical twins, and until recently they did absolutely everything together. Now they’re off to university and Wren’s decided she doesn’t want to be one half of a pair any more – she wants to dance, meet boys, go to parties and let loose. It’s not so easy for Cath. She’s horribly shy and has always buried herself in the fan fiction she writes, where she always knows exactly what to say and can write a romance far more intense than anything she’s experienced in real life.
Now Cath has to decide whether she’s ready to open her heart to new people and new experiences, and she’s realizing that there’s more to learn about love than she ever thought possible …
